Of Zurich and BT
I haven't blogged in a while - mainly because:
a) I've been travelling
b) Been generally busy at work and at home
c) BT sucks
Let's tackle them in order ;-)
I was in Zurich last week for the Noogler (that's New Googler for you ;-) training - the training was really interesting; unfortunately I can't talk about it - corporate stuff and all. The trip was really smooth - we got business class tickets and the hotel (4 star - no less!) was just a minutes walk from the Zurich lake. There was ample time after the training so we had some nice walks along the lake - unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to go anywhere significant :-(
Lots of new things to learn at work, and settling down has been, well, interesting. For example, the TV arrived today - yeah!
BT is being a real PITA - they still haven't figured out out to reconnect the line - really frustrating. Of course, here it seems everying needs a BT line - so the Sky people cannot do their installation and I can't have internet access via either narrowband or broadband. Thankfully, the amazing people @ Google have given me a 3G card - otherwise I would be completely offlne after office hours - shudder! Unfortunately, though the official rate is 256 kbps, I am yet to get over 80 kbps - probably because the signal is not very strong from inside the house.
Well, that's about it for now .
